Mike Pilati told CBS affiliate station KTVQ that the bear was in the car from just after 11 p.m. until about seven in the morning. The outlet reported that a black bear, whose cubs were nearby, managed to get inside the car but became trapped when the door closed. The woman, Kiran Baiga, was working at around 7 p.m. local time on November 28 when a leopard snatched the boy, Rahul, who was sitting nearby. She saw the leopard run off and chased it for 1 kilometer (0.6 miles), News18 reports. When she caught up to the leopard, Baiga found it with her son in its jaws, and it was holding him with its claws. According to Granthshala India, Baiga struck the leopard with a stick and managed to free Rahul....

Michelle Stani, 37, who became sick in December, passed away on January 12 from COVID-19 issues linked to pneumonia, according to the New York Post. Two days before Christmas, Michelle gave birth to her fourth child, Jayden. However, the closest she would ever get to touching her newborn baby boy was seeing a picture of him, according to Tina Stani, Michelle’s aunt. “Her partner had taken a picture of the baby and showed it to her, but that’s all she got,” Tina told the Post....

The bureau announced Friday that agents seized a pump-action shotgun from Hole’s home last year after his mother called law enforcement with a warning that her son might threaten police in order to provoke a deadly shootout. But despite his mother’s cautionary “suicide by cop” call, agents did not charge the then-18-year-old Indianapolis man because “no criminal violation was found” during the FBI’s threat assessment. Prosecutors on Monday said Hole never had a “red flag” hearing even after his mom’s warning of the suicide risk....

The string of shootings all took place within a 90-minute time frame in suburban Phoenix. Police arrested one man Thursday, who they suspect worked alone when he opened fire on pedestrians and other vehicles in the region. Aside from the one person killed, four others were shot. The other victims sustained injuries from shattered glass and car crashes. Authorities said the injured, all of whom are adults, are expected to make a full recovery, the Associated Press reported....
