Pence’s potential testimony could shed light on issues surrounding the former vice president’s interaction with the Secret Service during the Capitol riot and in particular suggestions that Pence believed there was a coup attempt. Kinzinger, one of two Republicans sitting on the committee, told The Wall Street Journal on Thursday that the select committee is considering asking Pence to appear before them for an interview. As a major figure in former President Donald Trump’s administration, Pence could provide key answers on a number of questions concerning January 6 and efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election....

On Wednesday, students welcomed Pence to the stage at the Young America’s Foundation National Conservative Student Conference in Washington, D.C. Though she does not mention Bridges by name in the post, the two reportedly began dating around 2016 and have two children together. Within the post, Johnson details the injuries she has sustained, including a diagnosis from an emergency room visit diagnosing her with a concussion, closed fracture of the nasal bone, rib contusion and strained neck muscle as a result of an assault by strangulation....

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema’s order resolved a 2018 lawsuit by granting the plaintiff’s motion for summary judgment, Bloomberg reported. The summary judgment allowed the plaintiff to secure a win in the case without it going to trial. A military HIV policy that was overturned in December once prevented recruits who tested positive from enlisting in the armed forces altogether. Those who tested positive after enlisting faced several restrictions that made it difficult for them to serve in certain positions and be deployed to combat zones....

Robert Staupe, 48, of Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office remains on personal leave after being demoted from the rank of major to lieutenant, the Star Tribune reported. Last Saturday night, authorities found Staupe’s official vehicle in a ditch across the road from the Northwinds Resort and Bar in Burnett County, northwestern Wisconsin—about 120 miles from his home in Lakeville, Minnesota. According to an accident report, an unidentified person left the bar and drove the SUV into the ditch—which is located about three miles away from a cabin that Staupe and his wife own....
