The controversy this time is Triplette overturning a play to give the Bengals a touchdown against the Colts. Although it was clear from real-time replays that running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis was tripped up short of of the goal line on a fourth-down rush, Triplette announced there was conclusive video evidence to make the reversal.
STEELE: Stop apologizing, NFL officials, and get it right
Instead of awarding Indianapolis the ball on the 1-yard line to keep the game 7-0, the ruling made it a 14-0 Cincinnati right before halftime. It's a crucial game for AFC playoff seeding between the two division leaders, so it's a shame to have a call botched so badly ... again.
Considering the errors with Triplette keep happening, the NFL should be putting his job under extensive further review during the offseason.
