Today we did the typical tourist thing. We went to all the churches (very boring) and a place called Jew Town, which used to be an all-Jewish community but now there are only six families still living there. We just got back from seeing “The Nutty Professor, Part Two.” The movie was so loud that you couldn’t understand anything and it wasn’t as funny as we had expected. I have the worst headache right now, and Fraser keeps practicing his favorite wrestler’s moves on me which isn’t helping my head. I hope maybe his turtle will take my place and be Fraser’s punching bag, but the way Fraser talks about his “Sherbert” you’d think they were engaged to be married.

We got the turtles!!! Thomas, mine, is just a little bigger than a quarter and his pattern is so pretty. Right now they’re floating around in a plastic tank with green and red goldfish pellets we bought for their food. But Fraser put way too much in. We left Cochin for a four-hour drive to a place called Munnar. Munnar is loaded with tea plantations, hills, mountains and a lake right in the valley. I thought we were back in Italy, when I almost threw up on all the turns because when we were driving up a mountain in Tuscany, I forgot what it was called. I did throw up. I’m very sensitive when it comes to carsickness. I mostly felt sorry for the turtles though because they kept sloshing back and forth on turns like they were caught in a riptide! I sort of feel like we’re in Knysna again since everything here is so green!!!! Mommy and I went to a yoga class, which I almost fell asleep in, but I do remember the yogi talking about awakening your inner mind–that stuff is way beyond me. Then we found a giant chess set and we ended up playing for an hour and a half. Mommy won but it was very close. We each had two men left, not including our kings.
