Today we went to an old, old (like 800 years) palace. It was amazing. In one room there were flowers carved into the walls, all shaped in silver, so it was like looking at a flower mirror. In another area the ceiling and walls were decorated with paintings of Vishnu (a god) who has blue skin, and his wife Rhadna. All around them were pink lotus flowers, different kinds of gold designs and light blue, yellow and green decorations, so detailed you had to look very closely to see it all.
It took an hour and a half and by that time we had to hail an elephant. It’s true, going back down you could ride an elephant. The ellies here in India are beautiful because their owners paint their forehead, trunk, ears and front feet. Instead of just one color they have bright pink, green, orange and white but in swirls of detailed design. It’s truly amazing!
