Franchises have until 4 p.m. ET Wednesday to get trades done. Players can still be placed and claimed on outright waivers after that date, but trades will no longer be permitted.

The market has been fairly soporific so far, but with just over a day left before the trade deadline, teams are expected to make a move, whether to improve their playoffs chances or to fine-tune their roster ahead of the postseason.

As is often the case at this time of the year, pitchers and hitters are in high demand. Here, Newsweek has looked at some of the players who could change clubs between now and the trade deadline.

Madison Bumgarner

The San Francisco Giants are 7-3 in the last 10 games and while there’s been suggestions they will explore trades, Bumgarner is unlikely to leave the Bay Area. According to NBC Sports Bay Area, the organization is confident the three-time World Series winner will remain with the Giants, although they might trade some of their relievers.

The Giants have a full bullpen and moving on some of their pitchers could help them address issues in other parts of the rotation.

According to BetOnline, Bumgarner is a 2/3 shot to remain in San Francisco and 11/10 to be traded.

Mike Minor

Minor is expected to be traded before the deadline, with odds on him leaving the Texas Rangers currently at 1/2, while odds on him staying in Texas have lengthened to 3/2. The 31-year-old will not play again before the trade deadline, but that is unlikely to put any potential suitors off pursuing a deal.

Minor is is 8-6 with a 3.00 ERA 21 starts this season but has gone 0-2 in four starts in July with a 6.04 ERA. On Monday, the Dallas Morning News reported the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees and Washington Nationals were all interested in a trade.

Trevor Bauer

With a 62-43 record, the Cleveland Indians are in pole position to claim one of the American League wildcard spots.

According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, however, that hasn’t stopped them from exploring the possibility of trading Bauer.

The 28-year-old is 9-8 in 24 starts this season with a 3.79 ERA and bookmakers expect him to move before Wednesday.

Bauer, who threw a ball over the center-field fence over the weekend when manager Terry Francona tried to remove him from the game, is 5/7 to be traded and 1/1 to remain in Cleveland.

Zach Greinke

At 5/2, Greinke is a long shot to be leaving the Arizona Diamondbacks before Wednesday, while odds on him staying are as short as 1/4.

However, MLB.com’s Jon Morosi suggested over the weekend the Diamondbacks were exploring a possible trade after falling to 53-54.

Greinke is 10-4 with a 2.87 ERA this season but his contract might make a move complicated.

Noah Syndergaard

The New York Mets star has made no secret of the fact he expects to be traded and changed his Twitter bio accordingly.

“Pitcher for the New York Mets, for now. Mrs. Met would hate to see me traded,” the updated bio reads.

The 26-year-old has a 4.33 ERA in 20 starts for the Mets this season and has attracted interested from a host of teams, with the San Diego Padres chief among them.

According to BetOnline, Syndergaard is 1/2 to leave the Mets and 3/2 to remain in New York.

Yasiel Puig

Puig has hit 12 home runs in the last 40 games and his slugging power makes him a very appealing target for teams with playoffs aspirations.

At 49-55, the Cincinnati Reds will not harbor such hopes this year and are expected to receive offers for the Cuban slugger.

All the same, bookmakers expect Puig to remain in Cincinnati. Odds on him to stay put are 2/3, while a trade is at 11/10.
