Los Angeles enters Tuesday’s play 5 1/2 games out of an American League wild-card spot with a 55-53 record and is looking to break into the playoff picture.

An earlier ESPN report said Goodwin had caught the attention of the Giants, who are seeking outfield depth. The 28-year-old is slashing .287/.343/.480 and has nine home runs and 28 RBIs this season.

Lucroy hasn’t played since he suffered a broken nose and concussion July 7 in a violent collision at home plate with the Astros’ Jake Marisnick. He is set to play a final rehab game Tuesday though and is expected to be activated Wednesday, The Athletic reported. The two-time All-Star is slashing .237/.307/.364 in 74 games in his first season with the Angels.

MLB’s trade deadline is 4 p.m. ET Wednesday.
