Strong against right-handed pitching, the left-handed hitting Murphy is batting .296/.344/.437 this season. DeJesus, also a lefty hitter, is batting .259/.323/.375 with five homers over 257 plate appearances.

Murphy will likely form a platoon with the switch-hitting Victorino in left field, while DeJesus will serve as a bench bat.

A defensive-minded shortstop, Stamets is batting .248/.306/.360 with 23 RBIs in 62 games at Double-A Arkansas.

Lopez, 20, has been ranked by Baseball America as a top 30 prospect in the Angels’ system each of the past three seasons (2012-14). He is 2-2 with a 4.32 ERA in eight starts for rookie-level Orem this year.
