A Twitter user with the handle @ghostfadekillah tweeted out an image of an alleged DM exchange Cosart had with a colleague.

Within an hour of the tweet gaining steam across the gambling world, Cosart deleted his Twitter account. It’s a bizarre circumstance, but MLB believes there’s enough there to look into the issue. The Miami New Times first reported MLB is investigating the claims and the Marlins have since confirmed the news.
As if this story wasn’t strange enough, a second Cosart Twitter account showed up and sent three tweets before the account was deleted. Here’s what it said:

If Cosart has ever bet on baseball it’d be a violation of the league’s rules. Gambling on baseball is what got Pete Rose banished from the league. According to the original tweeter, Cosart was not betting on baseball.
It’s worth noting that the reliability of @ghostfadekillah should be questioned. All of this speculation stems from anonymous Twitter users in the gambling community.
