As expected, young standouts are leading the fan voting. MLB home run leader Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is pacing the field while two other blooming stars and two veteran stalwarts join him among the top vote-getters in Phase 1.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. , Blue Jays (2,704,788 votes) Ronald Acuna Jr. , Braves (2,510,041 votes) Salvador Perez, Royals (2,150,968 votes) Mike Trout, Angels (2,084,542 votes) Fernando Tatis Jr. , Padres (2,052,642 votes)
The All-Star voting process now moves to Phase 2. The top three vote-getters at each position in Phase 1 will face off online from noon ET Monday until 2 p.m. ET Thursday, with the winner receiving a starting spot in the All-Star Game.
The votes from Phase 1 do not carry over, so each of the three finalists will get a fresh start.
The Astros have the most finalists of any team with seven, though none were leading their respective positions. The Blue Jays, Cubs and Dodgers have five each.
Here’s a look at all the position player finalists and the 20 teams they represent.
