When 7-year-old Gavin Edelson met the Angels star Friday about 90 minutes before the first pitch vs. the Orioles, he had one simple request for Trout.

Although the pair’s conversation was short, Edelson just wanted one thing, reported by ESPN, a home run:

The two-run homer helped the Angels to an 8-3 win.

“I thought it was going to hit off the wall,” Gavin said, sitting a few rows behind the Angels’ dugout. “I was so happy that he hit it.”

It also helped break a rare drought from the hot-hitting Trout. Until Friday’s game, Trout had hit just one home run in his previous 17 games.

“I’m trying to fix it. It’s coming,’’ Trout said. “Obviously, a double tonight and the home run. Just got to keep that same feeling in consecutive at-bats. Some pitches, I don’t feel it.''

The ESPN report noted their relationship dates back to last season when Edelson penned a letter to Trout:

It seems as though Edelson will need a permanent seat at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, perhaps a roster spot?
